GOING TO THE DOGS DINNER AND RACE NIGHT |
|
The second annual Going to the Dogs Fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, September 21st, starting at 6:30 p.m.
This unique fundraiser, held at the Rideau Carleton Raceway, promises to be a fun-filled evening with live racing, fabulous food, door prizes, 50/50 draw and silent auction. Price of admission includes valet parking, coat check, all-you-can-eat buffet, complimentary race program and your first $2 wager.
Price per person is $40. Tickets purchased before August 20th are eligible for an early bird draw for dinner for two at the Rideau Carleton Raceway. All proceeds go to Aussie Rescue Placement Helpline, Canines with a Cause and National Capital Coalition for People and Dogs (soon to be Responsible Dog Owners of Canada).
For tickets contact Julie at morejulie@hotmail.com. For information contact Cathy at going2thedogs@gmail.com
For the business folks, there are several ways to help.
We welcome donations of items for our silent auction. Donors will receive credit in the Going to the Dogs Silent Auction Brochure, a copy of which is placed on every table in the restaurant. Please note that the restaurant seats 650 people and is regularly sold out on race nights.
Ad packages are available for the day's race program as follows:
1. A half page (3 ½ X 4 ½ inches) ad in the race program, plus two complimentary tickets to the buffet for $150;
2. A full page ad (7 X 9 inches) in the race program, plus two complimentary tickets to the buffet for $200; or
3. Business card ads for $25.
Ad content and layout is the responsibility of the purchaser. However, we have several volunteers who can provide assistance, free of charge. All ads must be in black and white or grayscale and must be submitted by August 25th, 2007 to ensure inclusion in the race program.
In addition, we are offering race sponsorship packages to a number of local businesses. These packages are very popular and provide excellent value. There are only four sponsorship packages remaining. The cost of a race sponsorship package is $250 and includes the following:
1. 4 tickets to the buffet;
2. a race dedicated to the business with its name listed in the race program;
3. business name listed on the cover of the evening’s race program;
4. business name on the outside tote board and several business name promos by the race commentator;
5. a full page, black and white (7” X 9”) ad in the race program (sponsor is responsible for ad content and layout but we can help if assistance is required;
6. a complimentary colour, laminated group photograph in the winner’s circle with the winning horse and driver of the sponsored race.
Please note that there are two sponsors for each race but each sponsor will receive the above-mentioned package, including a separate photo for the group in the winner’s circle.
Finally, we are assembling approximately 300 promotional giveaway bags for the event and welcome promotional items like brochures, coupons or sample products. All material for the promotional bags must be received by September 12, 2007.

Race Night - come out and say hi |
|
Just a quick note to say that I've seen some of the items for the silent auction and they are awesome! If you haven't bought your tickets, you should. It's a great night out.
Award winning URBAN dog photog Sue Bird and I will be there with our better (?) halves in tow. Come and say hi...we'd love to meet you.
