Lost dog - Help requested |
|
Sorry - I know this is not the right topic for this posting - but I am hoping that someone might be able to help this person.
Crossposting from another list I’m on.
Please contact Luanne at luanne_pelletier@yahoo.com
Hi guys,
Hopefully someone still reads this list...I posted this on another list so am just going to copy this here rather than typing it all out again... Please feel free to cross post if you know of any other local lists that might be good to post this on...
I can barely type right now because I'm so upset and shaking. I've been seaching for the past 5 hyrs for Jingles and it's now after 1 am so I had to come home to feed my other dogs and cats and to figure out what to do next. It killed me leaving him alone in the dark woods.
My ex and I were walking the dogs tonight down a trail off of Anderson Rd (which is off of Innes, East of the hwy). We were on our way back to the cars when Jingles caught the scent of a deer and ran after it. Normally he doesn't go out of my sight but tonight he did and now I don't know where he is ( We could hear him baying in the distance as he chased the deers but he was far away and we couldn't get to him. My ex trudged through swamps, thick brush and fields but Jingles was always too far in the distance.
The last time we heard him howling was about 2 hrs ago but we haven't heard anything since and he was quite far from the original trail we started out on. If anyone knows that area, he was last heard near trail 51 around the rail road tracks, but he could be anywhere now. We've been up and down that road, stopped at all the trails, the parking for Mer Bleue (P20), I drove the circuit a few times from there down Ridge Rd, down Ramsayville Rd, back on the Hwy to Innes Rd
and than back to Anderson Rd but have not seen him.
I'm going back out as soon as the sun comes up but in the meantime I need to figure out who to call and what to do. The area that he's in is so large, it's going to be almost impossible to find my boy
Jingles is a tan & white beagle, 14 yrs old (but looks and acts like a 4 yr old), approx 23 lbs, he's in good shape and not over weight. He likely doesn't have his harness on anymore after running through the woods and no collar either. He is going to be pretty scared and he is a fear biter so if anyone does spot him, please handle him carefully because he's going to be freaked out.
He's also on thyroid meds that he takes every 12 hrs and he eats a homemade diet for other health reasons, so he needs to find his way home.
He's not going to be able to survive out there on his own, poor ole boy. He loves to be warm and cozy, and always has to lay on something soft so he always has a blanket to curl up with. I can't believe he's lost and all alone in the woods in the dark...
I only have dial up Internet at home so I can't upload a pic because it takes forever so here's a link to photos on ImageStation and you can see what Jingles looks like (Pics #1, 10, 17 and 31 are pretty good of Jingles).

I have tons of other pics but I'm not thinking straight right now. I'll have to get flyers made ASAP but I'll be out looking for Jingles and I don't have a printer...
If anyone in Ottawa has the time to help me find my boy, please email me and I'll give you my phone #s etc. Please pray that I can find Jingles.
Thanks,
Luanne
